Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) CEO David Zaslav and HBO chief Casey Bloys have apparently been trying to convince author J.K. Rowling to approve the series for a while now.

The series would allow the writers to delve further into the world of Rowling’s books, many of which are longer than 500 pages. Warner Bros. previously turned each of the seven books into a hit movie, culminating in a two-part film based on the final installment.

About Harry Potter
Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J.K. Rowling. The books follow the story of a young wizard named Harry Potter and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley as they attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The first book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (published in the United States as “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”), was published in 1997 and became an immediate success. The subsequent books, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” (1998), “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (1999), “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” (2000), “Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix” (2003), “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (2005), and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” (2007), were also hugely popular.
The books were adapted into a series of eight films, with the final book being split into two movies. The films were released between 2001 and 2011, and starred Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley.
The world of Harry Potter has become a cultural phenomenon, with a dedicated fan base and a wide range of merchandise, including video games, theme parks, and even a stage play. Rowling has also expanded on the world of Harry Potter with a number of companion books, including “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” “Quidditch Through the Ages,” and “The Tales of Beedle the Bard.”
The Harry Potter series has been translated into over 80 languages and has sold over 500 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling book series in history.
