Logitech has introduced the G304 X Lightspeed wireless gaming mouse in China, expanding its long-running G304 and G305 lineup with a set of measured hardware updates rather than a full redesign. While the outer shell remains largely unchanged, the company has reworked several internal components to address weight, power delivery, and wireless reliability.
The most notable shift is the move away from a removable AA battery. The G304 X now uses a built-in 290mAh lithium battery, a change that brings the total weight down to around 57 grams. This places the mouse firmly in the lightweight category without adopting the perforated designs seen in many competing models. Logitech has also adjusted the internal layout to create a more centered weight distribution, which should result in more predictable handling during fast movements.

Connectivity is another area of refinement. The G304 X supports dual-mode operation, working wirelessly via Logitech’s updated Lightspeed 2.4GHz connection or in wired mode through a USB-C cable. According to Logitech, the revised Lightspeed implementation improves resistance to wireless interference and reduces latency, particularly in environments crowded with other wireless devices. Wired mode allows uninterrupted use while charging, offering flexibility for longer sessions.
Tracking duties are handled by the Hero 25K optical sensor, which supports a sensitivity range from 100 to 25,000 DPI. Logitech has indicated that a future update through its G Hub software will raise the maximum DPI to 25,600. The sensor operates at a 1000Hz polling rate and is rated for more than 400 inches per second tracking speed with up to 40G acceleration tolerance, placing it in line with current expectations for competitive gaming hardware.
Battery life is rated at up to 106 hours on a full charge when used wirelessly. Fast charging support allows a 10-minute charge to deliver approximately 11 hours of use, which reduces downtime for users who forget to recharge. Onboard memory stores a default profile, while the G Hub software supports up to five configurable profiles. The mouse also features PTFE feet for smoother glide and primary switches rated for 20 million clicks.

Compatibility includes Windows 10 or later and macOS 12 or later. The G304 X is available in black, white, purple, and pink, and ships with a two-year limited hardware warranty.
The launch reflects Logitech’s ongoing strategy of refining established products rather than replacing them outright. Instead of repositioning the G304 X as a radical upgrade, the company appears focused on addressing practical pain points such as weight, charging convenience, and wireless stability. Separately, Logitech has also expanded its productivity lineup with the recent launch of the MX Master 4 in India, signaling parallel development across both gaming and non-gaming segments.
