Logitech G introduces PowerPlay 2, a wireless charging mouse pad for uninterrupted gaming

Logitech G, Logitech’s gaming brand, has announced the launch of PowerPlay 2, a wireless charging mouse pad designed to keep gaming mice powered up during gameplay. This innovative solution eliminates the need for gamers to interrupt their sessions to plug in their mice for charging, ensuring continuous performance and freedom from battery anxiety.

PowerPlay 2 builds upon its predecessor with a slimmer design and an expanded charging area. The pad itself is now only 3.5mm thick, providing a more comfortable and less obtrusive gaming surface. The charging area has been increased by 15%, enhancing charging efficiency and compatibility with a wider range of mice.

The PowerPlay 2 system utilizes a low-frequency electromagnetic field to continuously charge compatible mice. This field is captured by the PowerPlay 2 Charging Coin, a small module that is inserted into the bottom of the mouse. The combination of the charging pad and the coin allows gamers to enjoy the full capabilities of Logitech G’s Lightspeed wireless technology without worrying about battery levels.

Setting up PowerPlay 2 is designed to be user-friendly. Gamers simply plug in the charging pad and insert the Charging Coin into their compatible mouse. The system is plug-and-play, allowing for immediate and hassle-free charging. The Charging Coin can also be easily swapped between compatible mice, giving gamers the flexibility to use their preferred mouse without interrupting the charging process.

PowerPlay 2 is compatible with a growing number of Logitech G mice, offering gamers a range of choices to suit their individual preferences. The company is committed to expanding this compatibility in the future.

PowerPlay 2 will be available for purchase on Logitech’s website and Amazon starting March 11th, 2025. The suggested retail price is $99 USD or €109 EUR. With its focus on uninterrupted gaming performance and a more streamlined design, PowerPlay 2 promises to be a valuable accessory for gamers seeking a seamless and wireless experience.
