LG will introduces Sound Suite at CES 2026 with flexible Dolby Atmos support

At CES 2026, LG Electronics plans to introduce the LG Sound Suite, a modular home audio system designed around flexibility rather than fixed room layouts. The system centers on the H7 soundbar, which LG describes as the first soundbar to support Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. The underlying idea is straightforward: reduce the complexity traditionally associated with surround sound while still delivering multi-channel audio that adapts to different living spaces.

The LG Sound Suite is built as a modular ecosystem. In addition to the H7 soundbar, users can add components such as the M7 and M5 wireless surround speakers and the W7 subwoofer. According to LG, these parts can be combined into as many as 27 different configurations, scaling from a minimal two-speaker setup to a large 13.1.7-channel arrangement intended for dedicated home theater rooms. Unlike conventional systems that require precise speaker placement, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is designed to adjust output based on where speakers are positioned, aiming to accommodate irregular rooms or furniture constraints.

This approach reflects broader changes in how people consume media at home. As streaming services have largely replaced physical media, advanced audio formats such as Dolby Atmos have become more common across films, series, and live sports. While high-end televisions have seen rapid adoption, audio has often lagged behind due to cost and installation complexity. LG Sound Suite appears positioned to address that gap by offering a system that can grow over time without requiring a full replacement or professional installation.

LG has also added several software-driven features to the platform. Sound Follow uses ultra-wideband technology to adjust the listening focus based on where a user is seated, while Room Calibration Pro analyzes room acoustics and applies automated tuning. These features are intended to deliver more consistent sound across different seating positions rather than prioritizing a single “sweet spot.”

The H7 soundbar is powered by LG’s Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3, a chip already used in the company’s higher-end televisions. In the audio context, the processor handles tasks such as up-mixing stereo content, separating dialogue from background effects, and adjusting sound profiles based on content type. While these AI-based enhancements are increasingly common across the industry, LG is positioning them as a core part of the Sound Suite’s value rather than optional extras.

Hardware-wise, LG has partnered with Peerless speaker units, a long-established name in speaker manufacturing, for all components in the system. The choice signals an emphasis on consistent acoustic performance across the modular lineup, even as users mix and match components.

LG Sound Suite will be shown publicly during CES 2026 from January 6 to 9. The system represents LG’s attempt to balance immersive home audio with practical flexibility, targeting consumers who want improved sound without committing to rigid, traditional surround setups.
