G has introduced its latest wireless OLED TV lineup, the OLED evo M5 series, positioning it as a significant step forward in premium home entertainment. Building on its reputation for OLED innovation, LG’s new M5 combines the advanced picture quality of its G5 series with True Wireless technology, aiming to create a cleaner and more flexible setup without sacrificing performance.
The M5 series uses LG’s proprietary Zero Connect Box, which transmits video and audio wirelessly to the TV screen. This setup eliminates the need for physical HDMI cables running to the back of the display, allowing gaming consoles or media devices to be placed conveniently nearby rather than directly under or behind the TV. Each M5 screen and Zero Connect Box still require separate power connections, but by removing video cable clutter, LG’s solution appeals to users prioritising minimalist aesthetics alongside technical performance.
For gamers, the M5 delivers competitive specifications, offering support for up to 4K resolution at 144Hz refresh rates on screen sizes up to 83 inches, while the 97-inch model caps at 120Hz. It integrates VRR technology and is certified for Qualified Gaming Performance by Intertek, with an ultra-low response time under 0.1ms to ensure reduced input lag and smooth visuals even during fast-paced gameplay. Compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium adds to its appeal for serious gaming setups.

The OLED evo M5 is not solely targeted at gamers. Home cinema enthusiasts will find value in its support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation, designed to maintain cinematic accuracy even in bright environments. LG’s Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen2 enhances depth, detail, and colour with AI Picture Pro, while AI Sound Pro creates immersive 11.1.2-channel audio output. The Brightness Booster Ultimate technology also increases screen brightness by up to three times compared to LG’s standard OLED models, addressing one of OLED’s traditional limitations in bright viewing conditions.
In terms of colour performance, the M5 series has received certifications from Intertek for 100 percent colour fidelity and volume, while TÜV Rheinland awarded it a “Perfect” grade for ambient visual quality metrics, confirming its capability to deliver clear and vivid visuals under typical indoor lighting conditions.
Available in 65, 77, 83, and 97-inch sizes, the M5 retains LG’s flush-fit design language, offering a minimalist aesthetic without visible cabling. However, users should note that while video and audio signals are transmitted wirelessly, the TV and Zero Connect Box each still require a power connection.
Commenting on the launch, Park Hyoung-sei, President of LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the OLED evo M5 exemplifies LG’s leadership in wireless TV innovation, adding, “For 12 consecutive years, LG has led the global OLED TV market and we are opening a new era of television with our leadership in wireless TV.”
The M5 series rollout is part of LG’s broader strategy to maintain its competitive edge in premium TVs by focusing on design flexibility, gaming performance, and AI-enhanced image processing. While it remains to be seen how widely consumers adopt wireless TV setups, LG’s focus on integrating True Wireless technology with its OLED panels positions it as an early mover in this emerging segment.
