Lenovo unveils AI Glasses v1 with 2000-nit display and real-time translation

Lenovo has unveiled its latest entry into wearable tech with the launch of the AI Glasses V1 in China, priced at 3,999 yuan (about $562). Available through JD.com starting November 9, the lightweight device blends high-brightness display technology with AI-assisted features aimed at productivity, communication, and accessibility.

Weighing just 38 grams, the Lenovo AI Glasses V1 uses a resin diffraction light waveguide display capable of reaching 2,000 nits of peak brightness. The 1.8mm-thick lenses and a 15×11mm eye box help maintain stable visuals even with slight head movement, addressing one of the more common issues with AR-style wearables. Lenovo says the ergonomic frame is designed to minimize pressure on the nose and ears, making the glasses comfortable for prolonged use.

Functionally, the V1 integrates dual microphones and speakers for calls and stereo playback. It also includes Lenovo’s Tianxi intelligent assistant, which supports voice commands, real-time information retrieval, and instant translation. The translation tool allows for bilingual communication by displaying both spoken and written text in the wearer’s field of view, effectively turning the glasses into a live interpreter.

For creators and presenters, Lenovo has added a teleprompter mode that syncs with the company’s smart ring accessory. This setup enables users to scroll through scripts or control slide presentations discreetly, keeping their attention on the audience. The temples include touch-sensitive controls for navigating calls, messages, and on-screen menus, while the built-in AI navigation system can guide users visually and audibly through paired Android devices. The glasses can operate in either monocular or binocular display modes depending on the task.

Battery life varies by use case—Lenovo claims up to four hours in teleprompter mode, eight to ten hours during translation, and roughly 2.6 hours at maximum brightness and volume. Charging takes about 40 minutes for a full refill, and the device offers a standby time of up to 250 hours. Connectivity relies on Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring compatibility with most modern smartphones.

The Lenovo AI Glasses V1 represent the company’s continued expansion into AI-integrated consumer devices, positioning the product as both a functional wearable and an experimental platform for mixed-reality interaction. While its most advanced features are currently limited to Android, Lenovo’s approach signals growing interest in practical AR tools that prioritize communication and usability over spectacle.
