Lenovo ThinkBook Flip AI PC: a foldable laptop coming soon?

Rumors are circulating that Lenovo is preparing to launch a laptop with a foldable display at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. The rumored device, known as the Lenovo ThinkBook Flip AI PC, appears to be a traditional laptop with a unique twist: a foldable display.

When fully unfolded, the display doubles the vertical screen real estate compared to a standard laptop. Users can also fold the display behind the primary screen section, effectively hiding the second half when not in use. Alternatively, the folded portion can act as a secondary display, allowing for convenient screen sharing during presentations or collaborative work. It remains to be seen whether Lenovo will include software features that enable mirroring between the two halves of the display.

This isn’t Lenovo’s first foray into flexible display technology for laptops. At CES 2025, the company showcased a laptop with a rollable display, which is expected to hit the market in the summer of 2025. It’s unclear whether the foldable ThinkBook Flip AI PC will launch alongside the rollable laptop or at a later date.

Lenovo’s exploration of foldable and rollable display technologies suggests a commitment to innovation in the laptop space. These new form factors could potentially offer greater flexibility and versatility for users, particularly in scenarios where screen real estate and portability are key considerations. The success of these devices will likely depend on factors such as price, durability, and the availability of software that takes full advantage of the unique display capabilities.

The tech industry and consumers alike will be watching closely to see what Lenovo unveils at MWC 2025. If the ThinkBook Flip AI PC lives up to expectations, it could mark a significant step forward in laptop design and functionality.
