Some time ago, the Internet was asked if they would crowdfund a short house film about a Miami Kung Fu supercop who travels back in time to defeat the evil kung fu master, Hitler. The Internet has answered and now, “Kung Fury has now been released online on Youtube, this week. Fueled by 80’s nostalgia, cheap animations, Norse gods, Dinosaurs and fighting Nazi clones; Kung Fury is a parody and tribute to ’80s action movies. Directed by David Sandberg, he’s clearly on to providing a new grunge era for a generation where films are all lacking in pizazz. Sandberg took to Kickstarter and successfully received over half a million in funding to finish the film.
There’s now word that Sandberg plans to do an entire feature film and while we may never see that film hit theatres here, here’s always hoping.
So prepare yourselves for some 80’s nostalgia, grab some popcorn, load up your VCR simulation and strap in wondering where the Terminator franchise should have really gone.
