The global flash memory specialist KIOXIA has just introduced its new EXCERIA BASIC SSD series, aiming to bring PCIe 4.0 performance within reach for everyday PC and notebook users. Designed as a sensible upgrade for systems still running older SATA or PCIe 3.0 drives, the new range promises a noticeable leap in speed without breaking the bank.
Boasting sequential read speeds up to 7,300 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,800 MB/s, the EXCERIA BASIC drives are built to deliver faster boot times, quicker file transfers and a smoother overall user experience — whether you’re working, gaming or simply multitasking around the house.

Available in the popular M.2 2280 form factor and in capacities up to 2 TB, the series strikes a balance between performance, reliability and value. With KIOXIA’s decades of flash-memory expertise behind it, this line-up offers Gen4x4 PCIe support at a competitive price point.
“As we’ve seen, upgrading your PC or notebook should be simple, affordable — and above all, deliver a meaningful performance boost,” said Paul Rowan, VP & CMO at KIOXIA Europe. “That’s precisely what the EXCERIA BASIC series is designed to achieve: everyday users offered faster load times, smoother multitasking and more responsive systems, without stretching their budget.”
The EXCERIA BASIC joins KIOXIA’s established consumer SSD portfolio, which also includes the higher-tier EXCERIA PLUS and EXCERIA PRO series. While BASIC targets value-conscious users ready to step up to PCIe 4.0, the PLUS and PRO lines cater to more performance-driven markets — including Gen5 options.
Look out for the EXCERIA BASIC SSD series to become available in Q4 2025.
