Kioxia has announced two new additions to its storage lineup — the Exceria Plus G3 and Exceria G3 microSD card series — designed to deliver faster data transfer and greater reliability for photographers, videographers, and mobile users. Both series will be available in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The new Exceria Plus G3 microSD line targets users handling large media files and high-resolution formats such as 4K and 8K video. According to Kioxia, the cards offer read speeds of up to 210 MB/s and write speeds of up to 150 MB/s (with lower write speeds on smaller capacities), representing a 52% reduction in transfer time compared to the previous G2 series. Available in capacities from 64 GB to 1 TB, the cards are optimized for professional workflows and compatible with a range of action cameras, drones, and smartphones.

The standard Exceria G3 microSD series provides a similar balance of speed and capacity for general users, with maximum read speeds of 160 MB/s and write speeds up to 50 MB/s. Kioxia claims a 37% faster data transfer rate over the earlier G2 models. Both series meet Video Speed Class 30 (V30), UHS Speed Class 3 (U3), and Application Performance Class 2 (A2) standards, ensuring reliable capture of 4K and Full HD video.

Each card is built for durability, carrying an IPX7 waterproof rating and ISO7816-1 X-ray resistance. They are also tested for operation in temperatures ranging from -25°C to 85°C and are shock-resistant, making them suitable for demanding outdoor and field use. At 1 TB, users can store roughly 154,000 18-megapixel photos, 1,000 hours of Full HD footage, or about 21 hours of 4K video.

Paul Rowan, Kioxia Europe’s Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, said the new Exceria Plus G3 and Exceria G3 lines are meant to address the growing need for fast, reliable, and versatile memory solutions. The company notes that pairing these cards with specific UGREEN readers can further reduce transfer times when moving large data volumes from card to PC.

The new microSD cards extend Kioxia’s long-running Exceria family, continuing the brand’s emphasis on consistent performance across professional and consumer applications.
