The Kindle Colorsoft lineup has arrived to readers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, offering the brand’s first color e-readers in the region. The launch brings a fresh update to the Kindle experience, combining the long-standing strengths of E Ink with the addition of color to better support visual content like graphic novels, children’s books, and textbooks.
Kindle Colorsoft is available in two variants: a standard 16GB model and a Signature Edition with 32GB of storage, wireless charging, and an auto-adjusting front light. Both models feature a 7-inch Colorsoft display using Amazon’s latest E Ink technology. Black-and-white content is rendered at 300 ppi, while color content appears at 150 ppi—adequate for illustrations, comic panels, and book covers. The devices are equipped with 16-level grayscale and support for four highlight colors: yellow, orange, blue, and pink, allowing for easier text annotation and navigation.
At 215 grams, the Kindle Colorsoft is lightweight and portable, continuing the Kindle tradition of long battery life with up to eight weeks on a single charge, depending on usage. A full recharge takes less than two and a half hours via USB-C.

The display includes a built-in adjustable warm light, making the device more comfortable for extended reading in various lighting conditions. Amazon also adds a “Page Color” feature, giving users the option to invert the traditional black-text-on-white-page format to better suit night reading or visual preferences.
In addition to traditional eBooks, Kindle Colorsoft is designed with more visual genres in mind. Readers can now view full-color book covers in their library, enjoy illustrated stories and comics in detail, and navigate more visually rich documents such as PDFs and educational material with ease. While it doesn’t aim to replace tablets for full media consumption, it carves out a space for those seeking a better way to enjoy books and graphic content without screen fatigue.
The Kindle Colorsoft with 16GB storage is priced at AED 959 or SAR 1,069, while the Signature Edition retails at AED 1,079 or SAR 1,199. Both versions include free cloud storage for Amazon-purchased content and are now available across major retail platforms and Amazon’s local websites in the UAE and KSA.
