The first sliver of news finally comes in for the ANI:ME convention and it’s a doozy! Live music performances by two of the most iconic anime music supergroups JAM Project and FLOW will be headlining the event at du Forum, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on 27th to 29th October 2016.
JAM Project

JAM (Japanese Animationsong Makers) Project is an anisong group formed on July 19, 2000 consisting of Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endoh, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui and Yoshiki Fukuyama. Individually, they are some of the anime music industry’s biggest musicians. As a group, they’ve been smashing the charts with their songs included in popular anime like Bakuman., Super Robot Taisen, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and their most recent hit, “The Hero” from One Punch Man. They’ll be singing songs from their work as a group as well as individuals and personally, I can’t wait to hear Hiroshi Kitadani’s One Piece legendary opening song “We Are” live.

FLOW

FLOW is a Japanese rock band which was formed back in 1998, so they’re industry veterans without a doubt. Comprising of the two vocalists Keigo Hayashi and Koushi Asakawa, Takeshi Asakawa, the lead guitarist, Hiroshi Iwasaki on drums and Yasutarou Gotou (their magnificent bass guitarist), FLOW has performed some of anime’s greatest hits. The one that immediately comes to mind is “GO!!!” and “Re:member” from Naruto’s fourth and eighth OP respectively. Moreover, with works in Seven Deadly Sins, Beelzebub, Durarara!!x2 Ketsu, Tales of Zestiria the X, Samurai Flamenco and Code Geass.
