iPadOS 18 update for M4 iPad Pro temporarily halted due to bricking issues

Apple has hit pause on the rollout of its latest iPadOS 18 update for M4 iPad Pro models. This decision comes after several users reported that the update rendered their devices unusable, a phenomenon commonly referred to as ‘bricking’.

The tech giant has acknowledged the issue and is actively working on a fix. Until the problem is resolved, the iPadOS 18 update will not be available for M4 iPad Pro users. Those who have already downloaded the update but haven’t installed it yet are advised to hold off.

Some reports suggest that the issue might be linked to installing the iPadOS 17.7 update before upgrading to iPadOS 18.0.However, Apple has not officially confirmed this.

In the meantime, M4 iPad Pro owners can still install the iPadOS 17.7 update, which provides the latest security patches. The iPadOS 18.0 update remains available for other compatible iPad models.

Apple is expected to resume the rollout of iPadOS 18 for the M4 iPad Pro once the issue has been resolved. Until then, users will have to wait or, in some cases, seek hardware replacements from Apple.
