Berlin is buzzing again as IFA 2025 opens its doors, bringing with it a flood of new technology, concept devices, and future-focused smart living solutions. The iconic trade show remains one of the biggest stages for consumer electronics and home innovation, and this year’s spotlight is firmly on AI-driven appliances, next-gen TVs, and sustainable design.
Here’s what to watch from the biggest names at the show.
LG: The “AI Appliances Orchestra”
LG is coming in with a clear theme: synchronized smart living. Under its “AI Appliances Orchestra” concept, the brand is tying together its ThinQ ON ecosystem into a seamless home hub experience. Expect to see robotic vacuums with steam-mopping arms, a sink-integrated vacuum dock, and upgraded stick vacuums that use AI to detect surfaces and optimize cleaning modes.
LG is also bringing AI laundry machines capable of recognizing fabrics, tailoring cycles, and reducing allergens — all while promising improved energy efficiency. It’s a clear play for European households that want cleaner, smarter, greener living.
Samsung: Forty Years of Home Innovation
Samsung is marking 40 years in appliances with an IFA presence that’s both nostalgic and forward-looking. Its lineup is unified under SmartThings, highlighting a fully connected AI home that bridges appliances, displays, and mobile devices.
On the hardware front, look for the debut of new premium built-in kitchen appliances like the Bespoke AI Dishwasher and Extractor Induction Hob, alongside the next-gen Bespoke AI Washer, which cuts energy consumption by 65% below Class A standards.
But Samsung being Samsung, the whispers are also about surprises: AI-infused smartphones or new display tech that could drop alongside the appliance lineup.
Sony: Cameras, Creators, and Surprises
Sony’s booth is once again shrouded in secrecy, but the strongest rumor is the unveiling of the Sony A7 V, tipped to feature a new 44MP sensor, 4K/120fps video, and AI-assisted shooting. Beyond cameras, Sony is expected to lean into vlogging tools, spatial audio updates, and wearable tech — giving creators more toys to play with.
And, as always, Sony could have one or two curveballs waiting for the keynote.
Hisense: Bigger Screens, Smarter Displays
Hisense is doubling down on MicroLED and MiniLED. Their showcase will feature new AI-driven picture enhancements, larger gaming-optimized displays, and improved RGB MiniLED hardware. With Hisense now one of the world’s top TV shippers, expect plenty of flash around sports and home entertainment experiences as well as further integration of smart home platforms.
Acer: Next-at-Acer Keynote
IFA’s biggest computing footprint belongs to Acer, which is hosting its #nextatacer keynote. Expect announcements across AI-powered laptops, gaming monitors, and handhelds, with sustainability continuing to be a core theme.
Rumors suggest a new ultra-light laptop for business and creators, plus updates to Acer’s portable gaming consoles. As with previous years, Acer’s big focus will be AI performance, battery life, and green materials.
Bosch, Philips, and German Engineering
Bosch is bringing its “Power House” concept, built around AI-enhanced cooking, laundry, and Matter-compatible connected appliances. Expect smart ovens, dishwashers, and cooktops that recognize food items and adapt settings automatically.
Philips, meanwhile, is keeping its focus on personal care and health appliances. Expect air fryers, shavers, and wellness devices designed for modern European households.
A New Era for IFA
This year also marks the debut of the IFA Innovation Awards, spotlighting the best products across categories. With the mix of AI, sustainability, and entertainment-first devices, 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most future-forward editions of the show yet.
