Huawei has confirmed it will host its “Ride the Wind” product launch event in Paris on September 19, where the company plans to introduce new devices across its smartwatch, smartphone, and tablet lines. Among the highlights will be the debut of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 series, alongside new phones and tablets aimed at both productivity and lifestyle users.
Wearables are expected to take center stage. Huawei has steadily expanded its watch lineup since entering the category in 2015, and the company says it has now shipped more than 200 million wearables worldwide. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, its shipments grew 42.4% year-on-year, giving it the top spot in the global wearables market. That growth underscores the importance of the WATCH GT 6 launch, which follows the WATCH GT 5 series—known for its TruSense health monitoring system and dual-battery setup—and the WATCH Ultimate series, which introduced specialized modes for diving, golf, and outdoor sports.
Tablets will also feature prominently at the event. Huawei has leaned heavily on its PaperMatte Display technology and stylus support to position its tablets as tools for reading, writing, and digital creation. Apps such as GoPaint and HUAWEI Notes have helped target younger users and creative communities, with Huawei planning to launch a global GoPaint activity next month to further promote that angle.
The Paris showcase will also include new smartphones, though Huawei has not disclosed which models. Given the company’s focus on fashion-forward design and health-centric features, the lineup is likely to emphasize premium aesthetics alongside productivity tools.
The timing of the event reflects Huawei’s effort to reinforce its global presence in key European markets, where competition with Apple, Samsung, and Chinese rivals like Xiaomi remains fierce. Despite ongoing challenges such as limited access to U.S. software and hardware, Huawei has maintained momentum in wearables and tablets by pushing niche features like anti-glare displays, extended battery life, and advanced health tracking.
With the WATCH GT 6, new tablets, and updated smartphones on the way, Huawei is clearly betting on a mix of fitness, creativity, and style to strengthen its position ahead of the holiday season. Whether these devices resonate beyond Huawei’s loyal base will depend on pricing, ecosystem support, and the company’s ability to keep expanding software services in regions where access to Google’s platforms remains restricted.
