Huawei releases MatePad 12 X tablet in UAE stores

Huawei has announced the retail availability of the MatePad 12 X, a tablet positioned for productivity and creative use. The device is priced from 1,999 AED and is now available through Huawei’s online store and authorized retailers across the UAE.

The MatePad 12 X includes a 12-inch PaperMatte Display, the M-Pencil Pro stylus, and a pre-installed suite of work and creative tools. It is designed to serve users who need a portable device for writing, drawing, studying, and general multitasking.

The new PaperMatte Display uses nanoscale etching to reduce surface glare and reflections. According to Huawei, this approach cuts sparkle by around 50 percent compared to earlier screens. The matte texture aims to provide a paper-like feel for reading and note-taking while maintaining visual clarity for everyday use.

The M-Pencil Pro stylus offers 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity and includes gesture controls for quick tool access. It comes with interchangeable tips suited for handwriting, detailed sketching, and painting.

For productivity, the tablet features the PC-level version of WPS Office, which offers tools for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The interface is designed to resemble the desktop version, allowing users to move between PC and tablet with minimal adjustment. The device also supports Huawei’s NearLink keyboard for a laptop-style setup.

The MatePad 12 X weighs 555 grams and measures 5.9 mm in thickness. Its aluminum body is produced through an e-coating process that incorporates natural mica powder for a muted, textured finish.

The launch of the MatePad 12 X continues Huawei’s expansion of its tablet range, aimed at users who need a mid-sized device capable of both productivity and creative applications. The emphasis is on balancing display comfort, stylus precision, and lightweight design for flexible daily use.
