Huawei has begun selling the FreeClip 2 in the UAE, marking the next iteration of its open-ear wireless earbuds. The new model builds on the design language of the original FreeClip while making measured changes aimed at comfort, battery efficiency, and call performance rather than radically rethinking the product.
The FreeClip 2 retains the open-ear concept, which avoids sealing the ear canal and instead rests around the ear. Huawei has revised the C-bridge structure to improve fit and long-term wearability, using liquid silicone materials intended to reduce irritation during extended use. The earbuds are now roughly 9 percent lighter than the previous generation, a change that is likely to matter most to users who keep them on throughout the day. The design combines matte and glossy finishes with a metallic look, and the model is available in blue, white, and black.
Changes extend to the charging case as well. Huawei has rearranged how the earbuds sit inside the case, overlapping them to improve space efficiency. This redesign makes the case about 17 percent smaller while still accommodating a larger battery. The result is longer overall battery life without increasing pocket bulk, which addresses one of the more common complaints about open-ear audio accessories.

Audio performance has also been updated. The FreeClip 2 uses a new dual-diaphragm driver system, which Huawei says improves both volume and bass response compared to the first-generation FreeClip. While open-ear earbuds are not typically associated with strong low-end performance, Huawei claims noticeable gains in this area. The earbuds can also monitor ambient noise and adjust playback volume automatically, an approach meant to compensate for changing environments without requiring manual input.
For calls, the FreeClip 2 relies on a three-microphone setup combined with multi-channel DNN-based noise reduction. The system is designed to separate the user’s voice from background sounds and adapt in real time, boosting clarity when conditions are less than ideal. The same processing is used to enhance incoming voices when the user is in noisy surroundings, making the earbuds more suitable for work calls and commuting.
Battery life is rated at up to nine hours on a single charge, with a total of 38 hours when used with the charging case. The earbuds carry an IP57 rating for water and dust resistance, meaning they can handle sweat and light splashes and are easier to clean after workouts or outdoor use.
The Huawei FreeClip 2 is now available through Huawei’s official online store and at retail locations across the UAE. Rather than targeting audiophiles, the product continues to focus on users who prioritize comfort, situational awareness, and long wear times, positioning it as an incremental but practical update to Huawei’s open-ear audio lineup.
