At the 2025 Huawei Developer Conference (HDC 2025), Huawei Consumer Cloud Services announced new partnerships with two of the Middle East’s most prominent digital platforms—music streaming service Anghami and Arabic news aggregator Nabd. The pair of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signals Huawei’s intent to expand the capabilities of its Huawei Mobile Services for Car (HMS for Car), enhancing in-vehicle infotainment by delivering localized music and news content tailored for Arabic-speaking markets and beyond.
With over 57 million tracks and a deep regional footprint, Anghami will now integrate its library into HMS for Car, offering automakers a way to provide a contextually relevant, in-car music experience. This partnership leverages Anghami’s long-standing relationship with Huawei, which dates back to 2020 with HMS integration and continued through multiple hardware platforms, including Huawei smartwatches and wearable apps. Its renewed collaboration positions Anghami as a core content provider in Huawei’s expanding connected car ecosystem.
Nabd, which serves more than 32 million users globally, brings Arabic-language news, financial data, sports updates, and live TV to the partnership. Its inclusion into HMS for Car expands Huawei’s in-vehicle offerings beyond entertainment, adding a robust feed of real-time news and lifestyle services. Nabd has also been working with Huawei since 2021 to integrate media services into the broader HMS platform and extend its reach through the Huawei AppGallery.
Together, these partnerships represent a strategic push by Huawei to embed regional digital leaders into its in-car platform, enhancing the user experience for both drivers and passengers in markets where demand for localized content continues to grow. The deals align with broader trends in the automotive sector where software-defined vehicles and infotainment ecosystems are emerging as key differentiators.
The announcement comes as Huawei also unveiled HMS for Car MAAN 4.0—its latest platform update that allows web-based applications to function as smoothly as native apps. Combined with the new App Box developer tool, the technology makes it easier for content providers like Anghami and Nabd to bring immersive experiences into connected vehicles.
Huawei’s approach to building HMS for Car goes beyond simple content aggregation. It’s part of a wider effort to create a seamless and intelligent in-car environment, blending entertainment, news, and utility into a unified platform. While many global automakers are still navigating how to localize digital experiences for specific markets, Huawei is taking a proactive stance by forging early partnerships with regionally entrenched content providers.
Looking ahead, Huawei says it plans to expand its in-car ecosystem by onboarding more regional and global partners across entertainment, news, navigation, and services. The goal: to make every ride more personalized, informative, and engaging—especially in emerging markets where digital consumption is mobile-first and growing fast.
For Anghami and Nabd, the integration into HMS for Car opens up new distribution channels in a space where consumer attention is shifting toward connected and context-aware experiences. For Huawei, it’s another step in anchoring itself not just as a technology provider, but as a key enabler of digital content in tomorrow’s vehicles.
