HONOR has added another mid-range option to its smartphone lineup with the launch of the HONOR X7d 5G, a device that focuses heavily on durability and long battery life while layering in AI features. The phone is now available in Saudi Arabia, priced at SAR 649 for the 6GB/128GB model and SAR 749 for the 8GB/256GB version, both at promotional launch pricing.
The X7d 5G is built to withstand everyday drops and scrapes, backed by SGS certification for drop and crush resistance. HONOR says the reinforced corners and internal cushioning allow the phone to survive falls from up to 1.8 meters. The device also carries IP65 water resistance, making it safe against splashes and short submersion. A wet-hand touch mode ensures usability even when fingers are damp or greasy, a practical detail often missing in this price bracket.
Battery life is one of the phone’s standout features. A 6,500mAh dual-cell unit supports extended use, with HONOR claiming up to five years of durability thanks to its structural design and thermal management system. The phone can handle temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C, meaning it should perform reliably in both desert heat and colder environments. For recharging, it supports 35W wired fast charging.
On the software side, the X7d 5G debuts HONOR’s Instant AI Button, a physical shortcut designed for quick access to customizable functions. A single press can launch apps or perform system cleaning, while a long press activates AI-powered tools like translation or creative generation. It runs MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, which includes features such as Magic Capsule, Magic Portal, Circle to Search, and integration with Google’s Gemini Assistant. Built-in AI tools extend to editing functions like upscaling, outpainting, and background cutouts.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, paired with HONOR’s RAM Turbo technology, which reallocates storage as virtual RAM to maintain performance during multitasking. GPU performance is said to be 84% higher than the previous generation, which should help with gaming and graphics-heavy apps.
The HONOR X7d 5G is offered in three finishes—Desert Gold, Meteor Silver, and Velvet Black—clearly aimed at appealing to younger buyers looking for style along with durability. At its price point, the device competes with other mid-range 5G phones but distinguishes itself with its oversized battery, rugged design, and AI-focused software enhancements.
