Honor has officially announced that its latest foldable flagship, the Honor Magic V5, will launch globally next week, with Malaysia confirmed as the first international market to receive the device on July 15. The announcement comes shortly after the Magic V5’s debut in China earlier this month, where it gained attention as the world’s slimmest and lightest foldable phone.
According to Honor Malaysia, the Magic V5 will deliver a no-compromise experience across battery life, camera capabilities, and durability – areas that often see trade-offs in foldable devices.
Honor Magic V5 Specifications
In China, the Magic V5 is available in two battery configurations: 5,820mAh and 6,100mAh, although the international variant is expected to feature the 5,820mAh battery.
The device sports a 7.95-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display with smooth adaptive refresh rates, complemented by a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED cover screen for quick tasks and notifications. Powering the Magic V5 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, positioning it firmly within the ultra-premium foldable segment.
Camera capabilities remain a highlight. The Magic V5 includes:
- 20MP cover display camera
- 20MP internal screen camera
- Triple rear camera setup:
- 50MP main camera with OIS
- 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus
- 64MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS for enhanced zoom performance
Additional features enhancing the user experience include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, 66W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, USB-C Gen 3.1 connectivity, and an IR blaster for controlling household devices.

With a folded thickness of 8.8mm and a weight of 217 grams, the Honor Magic V5 retains its title as the slimmest and lightest foldable in its class, further solidifying Honor’s engineering achievements in foldable design.
