Spotify is increasing Premium subscription prices in multiple regions outside the US, including Europe, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. Impacted subscribers will receive email notifications over the next month.
The company provided an example showing a €1 monthly increase — from €10.99 to €11.99 — in an unspecified European country. Price hikes have already appeared for new customers in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, while countries like France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, which saw recent increases, appear unaffected.
The move comes days after Spotify’s July 29th earnings report, which showed paid subscriber growth but a profit forecast below analyst expectations. The announcement triggered an 11.5% drop in Spotify’s stock, wiping $16 billion from its market value.
