Google shares first official image of Pixel 10 ahead of August launch event

With just weeks to go before the Pixel 10’s official debut, Google has opted to get ahead of ongoing leaks by publishing its own high-resolution image of the upcoming smartphone. The company quietly updated its Google Store with a teaser video showing the rear design of the device, offering the clearest look yet at its next flagship.

The image reveals a familiar design language, continuing the aesthetic introduced with the Pixel 9 series. The signature horizontal camera bar remains, housing what appears to be three rear-facing cameras, an LED flash, and what may be a temperature sensor—a setup that closely mirrors the Pixel 9 Pro.

Google did not specify whether the device shown is the Pixel 10 or Pixel 10 Pro, but the triple-camera array suggests it could be a higher-end model. The move to preview the device now appears to be a response to a flurry of unofficial leaks in recent weeks, many of which have surfaced in lower-quality images and inconsistent lighting.

Earlier this week, Android Headlines reported that even the base Pixel 10 model would feature three rear cameras, indicating a possible upgrade from the dual-camera setup seen in past non-Pro models. The publication also claimed the Pixel 10 will launch in at least four color variants.

Google has made a habit of releasing official previews of its hardware ahead of formal announcements. Previous Pixel models—including the Pixel 4, Pixel 8, and Pixel 9 Pro—were similarly teased before their respective launches. The strategy often generates interest early and offers a contrast to the heavily curated reveals typical of competitors like Apple and Samsung.

The company is set to formally unveil the Pixel 10 lineup on August 20 at a live event in New York. Alongside the new phones, the event is expected to feature the Pixel Watch 4 and possibly the rumored Pixel 10 Pro Fold, expanding Google’s footprint in both the wearable and foldable segments.

With Google continuing to grow its hardware presence amid fierce competition, the early reveal of the Pixel 10’s design underscores the company’s commitment to controlling its narrative ahead of launch.
