Google Photos is finally rolling out one of its most fun AI tricks yet — the Remix feature, which can transform any photo into one of four cartoon-inspired styles: anime, comic book, pencil sketch, or Pixar-like 3D animation.
The feature, first teased in July, is gradually becoming available worldwide on the Google Photos mobile app. While Google is also preparing a new Create tab to centralize these AI tools, early access users can find Remix by tapping the “+” button in the top-right corner, selecting Remix, choosing a style, and picking a photo. Tap Generate to see the result — or hit Regenerate for a new variation.
Unlike third-party apps that require separate uploads, Remix works directly inside Google Photos, keeping edits within your existing library. The rollout is still limited, so if you don’t see it yet, you’ll just have to wait until Google flips the switch for your account.
