Google Gemini gets homepage makeover with new Tools menu, Wear OS Glow update

Google is rolling out a redesigned Gemini homepage on the web, moving the “Ask Gemini” prompt from the bottom to the center — giving it a look that’s strikingly similar to Google Search.

The update replaces old quick-action chips with a unified “Tools” menu, putting features like Veo video creation, Deep Think, Deep Research, Canvas, Imagen image generation, and Guided Learning in one place. Beneath the prompt, you’ll also see new quick-suggested actions: Write, Build, Deep Research, Create Image, and Create Video.

Once you start chatting, the input bar drops back to the bottom as before. Mobile web keeps the bar at the bottom but adopts the new layout, and the redesign is also reaching Android and iOS users.

On Wear OS, Gemini now features a fresh four-color glow animation — blue, red, yellow, and green — before fading to light blue, replacing the older blue-purple effect.
