Google is rolling out new Gmail features aimed at making it easier to track purchases and spot relevant shopping deals, just in time for the holiday season.
The most notable addition is a new “Purchases” view, which pulls together all purchase-related emails and delivery updates into a single organized list. Rather than searching through your inbox, you’ll be able to see a consolidated snapshot of upcoming deliveries in one place.
This expands on existing Gmail features like summary cards in purchase emails, which already display quick updates on package status. If order tracking is enabled, those cards can also pull live updates from shipping carriers. Gmail will continue to show imminent deliveries — within 24 hours — at the top of the primary inbox, but the new Purchases view offers a broader overview. The rollout has begun for users worldwide on Android, iOS, and the web.
Google is also refining the Promotions tab, which automatically collects marketing emails, offers, and newsletters. Two new filters are being introduced:
- Most relevant: Highlights deals and emails from brands you frequently engage with.
- Most recent: Displays promotional emails in chronological order, the way the tab works today.
In addition, Gmail will start surfacing “Top deals for you” cards at the top of the Promotions tab, making it easier to notice discounts or offers that match your past behavior. These updates will arrive over the next few weeks for all Google account users across platforms.
Together, the Purchases view and Promotions refinements turn Gmail into a more proactive shopping and delivery hub — a move that aligns with how users already rely on their inbox for receipts, order confirmations, and shipping notifications.
