Google is expanding Gemini Live’s capabilities on Android and iOS, with a broader rollout now giving the conversational AI real-time access to Google Calendar, Tasks, and Keep. This update, first previewed at Google I/O 2025, allows users to create events, set reminders, and add notes directly within live voice interactions. It also enables the assistant to retrieve information stored in those apps, moving it beyond its previous role of providing only general knowledge.
The integration isn’t limited to voice commands like “add a reminder” or “make a note.” Gemini Live can also respond to more open-ended queries such as “do I have any reminders today” by pulling data from linked Google services. A visual indicator—a small chip above the fullscreen controls showing the app icon with a circular progress ring—appears when an app is being accessed. Certain actions, such as creating a list, also offer an “Undo” option for quick corrections.
Google Maps data is also supported, letting users request details about places in real time. On Samsung devices, a similar setup extends to Samsung’s own Calendar, Notes, and Reminders apps, showing Google’s willingness to adapt the feature to different ecosystems.
The rollout began gradually in late June, with only some users gaining access, and continued slowly through July. Over the past several days, however, the feature has become widely available through both stable and beta versions of the Google app on Android, as well as on iOS.
Gemini Live’s app access works alongside video and screen sharing features, making it possible to, for example, create a calendar event directly from dates shown on a shared screen or seen through a device camera. By connecting to personal productivity tools, Google is positioning Gemini Live as a more practical, day-to-day assistant that can move fluidly between general conversation and task management.
