Geely has introduced the Starray 4WD in the UAE, expanding its SUV lineup with a model designed to balance everyday comfort with all-terrain capability. Distributed locally by AGMC, the new version builds on the existing Starray platform but adds a four-wheel-drive system and a stronger powertrain aimed at drivers who want more flexibility beyond city roads.
The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It delivers 238 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, giving it enough strength for highway acceleration as well as off-road driving. The 4WD system can shift torque between the front and rear axles as needed, which should help maintain traction on sand, gravel, or wet pavement—conditions common across the region.
Inside, the Starray 4WD emphasizes space and in-car tech. Its 2,777mm wheelbase provides roomier dimensions than many of its rivals, while features like fold-flat rear seats offer up to 1,610 litres of cargo capacity. The cabin includes a 13.2-inch central touchscreen with 2K resolution, a digital instrument cluster with head-up display, Harman Infinity audio, and ambient lighting that responds to music. Comfort-focused details, such as soft-touch seats and a panoramic sunroof, are clearly aimed at family buyers and long-distance drivers.
Connectivity and convenience also play a role, with smartphone mirroring, wireless charging, and an integrated voice assistant. Safety features extend to lane keeping, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a surround-view camera system with a transparent chassis mode—useful for navigating both tight parking spots and uneven terrain.
Visually, the Starray 4WD carries over Geely’s latest design approach, with sharp lighting signatures, aerodynamic contours, and large 20-inch alloy wheels. It is available in five colours, including a new forest green option that underlines its off-road positioning.
The launch comes during a busy period for Geely in the UAE, following the introduction of the EX5 EV, the Monjaro SUV, and the Cityray SUV, along with new showrooms in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain. The Starray 4WD adds another option for buyers seeking a mid-sized SUV that doesn’t compromise between daily comfort and weekend adventure.
