Garmin, the renowned GPS and wearable technology company, has just unveiled its latest flagship smartwatches – the Fenix 8 and Enduro 3. These new additions come with a host of exciting hardware upgrades and innovative software features, setting a new standard for outdoor and fitness enthusiasts.

In a strategic move, Garmin has also decided to retire its Epix line, integrating its AMOLED display technology into the Fenix family. This means that the Fenix 8 now comes in both AMOLED and MIP Solar options, offering users a wider range of choices to suit their preferences and needs.

Fenix 8: A Diversified Powerhouse

The Garmin Fenix 8 now boasts a 40-meter dive rating, making it suitable for scuba diving and apnea activities. The inclusion of leakproof metal buttons and dedicated dive modes further solidifies its appeal to water sports enthusiasts.

The Fenix 8 also features a built-in mic and speaker, enabling hands-free calling and voice commands for various smart assistants. For the first time, users can even control the watch directly with on-watch commands like “set a timer” or “start a workout,” a feature that was long overdue.

Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the new “Advanced Strength Training” feature, offering targeted training plans and sport-specific workouts. This promises to be a game-changer for those seeking to optimize their fitness routines and achieve specific goals.

Other notable upgrades include a wider availability of the built-in LED flashlight across all Fenix 8 sizes, access to the Garmin Messenger app directly on the watch, and a revamped map interface with customizable layers.

The Fenix 8 series continues to offer a plethora of familiar training tools, health monitoring features, and advanced sports modes, ensuring a comprehensive and personalized fitness experience.

Enduro 3: Endurance Redefined

The Garmin Enduro 3 raises the bar for endurance athletes, boasting a remarkable 90-day battery life in smartwatch mode and up to 320 hours of GPS tracking with solar charging. This impressive upgrade is attributed to a new, more efficient solar panel that significantly enhances its power harvesting capabilities.

The Enduro 3 also inherits several premium features from the Fenix 8, including the dynamic round-trip routing for trail runners and hikers, as well as the advanced strength training plans. The addition of ECG readings for AFib detection and a built-in LED flashlight further enhances its versatility and functionality.

Price and Availability

Both the Garmin Fenix 8 and Enduro 3 are now available for purchase. The Enduro 3 starts at $899, while the Fenix 8 ranges from $999 to $1,199, depending on size and optional upgrades like a titanium bezel or sapphire lens.

With these new additions, Garmin continues to solidify its position as a leader in the outdoor and fitness smartwatch market. The Fenix 8 and Enduro 3 offer a powerful combination of advanced features, impressive battery life, and rugged durability, catering to the needs of even the most demanding athletes and adventurers.
