e& UAE has announced the local launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold, with the device set to go on sale in the UAE from 19 December 2025. The model will be available through e& UAE and Samsung retail channels across the country, making the UAE one of the first markets to receive Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone.
The timing of the release aligns with the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations, a period often used by technology companies to introduce new products. While the launch reflects the UAE’s established role as an early-adopter market for premium consumer electronics, the decision also underscores how regional telecom operators continue to use exclusivity arrangements to differentiate their device portfolios.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is positioned as Samsung’s most complex foldable device to date. It features a triple-folding design that allows it to shift between a conventional smartphone form factor and a larger 10-inch display intended for productivity and media consumption. This approach builds on Samsung’s previous foldable designs, expanding the screen real estate further while attempting to maintain portability.
On the software side, the device supports multitasking across three applications simultaneously, alongside Samsung DeX, which allows the phone to function as a desktop-style interface when connected to compatible displays. Samsung has also integrated several AI-based tools, including Photo Assist and Sketch to Image, which are designed to assist with image editing and creative tasks. These features follow a broader industry trend of embedding generative and assistive AI functions directly into consumer devices rather than relying solely on cloud-based services.
From a hardware perspective, Samsung has reinforced the TriFold with a redesigned hinge mechanism and a titanium frame, addressing long-standing concerns around durability in foldable smartphones. Despite the additional folding segment, the company says the device remains relatively slim compared to earlier generations of foldables, though real-world usage will ultimately determine how practical the form factor is for everyday use.
e& UAE has tied the launch to its network capabilities, highlighting compatibility with its 5.5G infrastructure. While faster mobile connectivity can enhance streaming, cloud services, and remote work tools, the benefits will largely depend on coverage consistency and user behavior rather than device capability alone.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will be sold through e& UAE and Samsung stores starting 19 December, with options such as installment plans, trade-in programs, and device care services available at selected locations. As foldable smartphones continue to occupy a niche segment of the market, this launch will serve as a test of whether larger, more complex designs can move beyond early adopters and appeal to a broader range of users in the UAE.
