Galaxy Unpacked 2024: here’s what to expect on July 10

Get ready, tech enthusiasts! Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is set to take center stage on July 10th in Paris. While Samsung has traditionally used its earlier Unpacked events to unveil its flagship Galaxy smartphones, this mid-year showcase is expected to focus on wearables, foldables, and the intriguing new Galaxy Ring.

The foldable phone spotlight will likely fall on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Leaks suggest a design refresh for the Z Fold 6, with sharper lines, brighter screens, and potentially improved battery life. The Z Flip 6 might see more subtle changes, but rumors point to a similar brightness boost for the display, a vapor chamber cooling system for better thermal management, and a potentially larger battery. Both phones are expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring smooth performance for work and play.

Samsung’s foray into the world of smart rings, the Galaxy Ring, remains shrouded in a bit of mystery. While the company offered a glimpse of the device at CES in January, details about its features, pricing, and release date are still under wraps. Speculation suggests a price tag in the $300-$350 range and the possibility of a bundled fitness and health subscription service to complement the ring’s health tracking capabilities.

Beyond wearables and foldables, Samsung is also expected to shed light on its Galaxy Watch lineup. Rumors suggest a familiar design for the regular Galaxy Watch 7, but the star of the show might be the rumored Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. Leaked renders hint at a design that borrows inspiration from the Apple Watch Ultra, featuring a larger, more rugged case with a distinctive squircle shape, an additional button potentially similar to Apple’s Action Button, and a proprietary watchband connector that could limit compatibility with older Galaxy Watch bands.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 are also expected to make an appearance, with leaked images suggesting a design that echoes Apple’s third-generation AirPods. However, Samsung adds its own touch with angular stems and vibrant blue and orange accents. Interestingly, a Reddit user claims to have already purchased a pair of Galaxy Buds 3 at a Walmart in the US, suggesting that the earbuds might already be in stock at some retailers.

Finally, Samsung is poised to unveil more about Galaxy AI, its suite of on-device AI features. While some Galaxy devices already offer AI-powered functionalities like photo and video editing and in-call translations, Samsung might use this event to showcase more advanced AI capabilities that set it apart from the competition.

With a packed agenda featuring wearables, foldables, AI, and possibly a surprise or two, Samsung’s July Unpacked event promises to be a must-watch for tech enthusiasts. So mark your calendars and tune in to the live stream on YouTube or Samsung’s website to witness the next generation of Galaxy devices.
