Looks like Facebook is aiming the year with a bang! The internet giant has revealed that a new software bug exposed photos of up to 6.8 million users to developers.
Facebook said that several third-party apps had access to “a broader set of photos than usual” for the duration of 12 days during the month of September, and that affected users will be notified.
When someone gives permission for an app to access their photos on Facebook, we usually only grant the app access to photos people share on their timeline. In this case, the bug potentially gave developers access to other photos.
