Elon Musk has met with leaders of the upcoming BRIDGE Summit to discuss the intersection of technology, media, and AI, while receiving an invitation to attend the event’s inaugural edition in Abu Dhabi this December. The meeting took place at Tesla headquarters in Palo Alto, where Musk engaged with H.E. Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE National Media Office, the UAE Media Council, and BRIDGE.
Conversations centered on how AI, data centers, and content integrity are shaping the future of both media and technology. Musk highlighted the importance of clean, affordable energy in powering next-generation data centers, pointing to the UAE’s growing strengths in this area. In response, Al Hamed reaffirmed the country’s readiness to play a central role in the global AI landscape, citing its low-cost renewable energy infrastructure and large-scale capacity.
Musk also praised the UAE’s leadership for its forward-looking approach, noting the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as the work of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in positioning the UAE as a hub for innovation.
During a tour of Tesla’s Optimus robotics lab, the discussion turned toward responsible innovation, with both parties stressing the need for international cooperation on regulatory frameworks for AI—particularly in media, content creation, and distribution.
The talks also explored practical collaboration, from integrating AI into the UAE’s media and technology ecosystem, to educational programs designed to engage youth in science and entrepreneurship, and initiatives connecting sustainability and media storytelling.
According to Al Hamed, the UAE sees media as “a powerful force capable of reshaping knowledge and building awareness,” with the BRIDGE Summit serving as a platform for testing bold approaches to rebuild trust in media and define its role in an AI-driven future.
The inaugural BRIDGE Summit will be held in Abu Dhabi from December 8–10, positioning itself as a global stage for media, technology, and entertainment industries to converge and explore new strategies for growth and collaboration.
