e& UAE has introduced a Kids SIM Card and Parental Control Service designed to protect children online. The announcement was made at the WeProtect Global Summit 2024 in Abu Dhabi, which focuses on combating online child exploitation.
The Kids SIM Card offers two plans tailored to children’s needs, including local minutes, 24/7 data access, free data for educational content, and parental controls to restrict outgoing calls. The SIM card can be obtained through e& UAE channels and activated via the e& UAE app.
The Parental Control Service provides a comprehensive solution for managing children’s online activities. It includes features like content filtering to block inappropriate websites and apps, screen time management to set daily device usage limits, and social media monitoring to track activities on popular platforms.
Parents can access detailed reports on their children’s online activity, including browsing history and app usage. Cybersecurity measures are also in place to protect devices from malware.
Khaled Elkhouly, Chief Consumer Officer of e& UAE, emphasized the importance of these offerings in today’s digital age, where children are increasingly exposed to online risks. The Kids SIM Card and Parental Control Service aim to enhance children’s online experiences while providing parents with the tools to manage internet usage and ensure their children’s well-being.
The Parental Control Service is included for free with the Kids SIM Card. Customers can also subscribe to the service separately for AED 30 per month, with a one-month free trial available.
The Kids SIM Card offers two flexible monthly plans priced at AED 49 and AED 99, both including the Parental Control Service. These plans can be accessed and managed through the e& UAE app.
