e& UAE has partnered with Nokia to conduct a successful trial of a dedicated end-to-end network slice for gaming applications. This marks the first time an operator has used Nokia’s slicing solution to create a network slice specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern gaming.

The trial, conducted in e& UAE’s Abu Dhabi labs, demonstrated the ability to create network slices across both in-home Wi-Fi and fiber access networks, ensuring a seamless and optimized gaming experience. Nokia’s solution allows for the creation of on-demand or autonomous network slices with tailored characteristics to meet the specific needs of different services and applications.

In the trial, e& UAE was able to automatically detect when a gaming console came online and create a dedicated network slice with low latency and high speed, ensuring an optimal gaming experience. This highlights the potential for operators to monetize their networks by offering premium services tailored to specific customer needs.

This successful trial paves the way for the future of autonomous networks and demonstrates the power of network slicing to enhance customer experiences and create new revenue opportunities for operators.
