Dyson PencilWash wet and dry cleaner launches in UAE with slim 38mm design

Dyson has introduced the Dyson PencilWash wet and dry cleaner in the UAE, positioning it as a slimmer and lighter alternative within the growing hard-floor cleaning category. Announced in Dubai on 19 February 2026, the new model focuses on maneuverability, compact storage, and hygienic wet cleaning, while maintaining features typically associated with full-sized wet floor washers.

The Dyson PencilWash is built around a 38mm-diameter handle, giving it a noticeably narrow profile compared to conventional wet and dry cleaners. Weighing 2.2kg as a full machine and 380g in-hand, it is designed to be easy to steer with minimal wrist movement. The cleaner can lie flat to 170 degrees, allowing it to reach under furniture as low as 15cm, an area where bulkier models often struggle.

A key structural difference is its filter-free system. Unlike many wet cleaners that rely on filters to trap debris, the Dyson PencilWash eliminates this component to reduce maintenance concerns such as clogging, sludge buildup, or odor retention. Instead, it uses a separation system designed to extract dirty water and debris continuously into a 360mL dirty water tank while supplying fresh water from a 300mL clean tank.

Cleaning performance centers on three mechanisms: hydration, agitation, and extraction. The machine uses an eight-point hydration system to distribute water evenly across a high-density microfibre roller. According to Dyson, the roller contains 64,000 filaments per square centimeter and rotates rapidly to remove both wet and dry debris in a single pass. As it spins, dirty water is extracted on each rotation, helping ensure that fresh water is applied throughout the cleaning process.

The device offers two hydration modes, allowing users to adjust water output depending on the surface type or level of staining. In low hydration mode, the 300mL tank can cover up to 100 square meters of flooring, though actual coverage may vary depending on usage patterns. The unit delivers up to 30 minutes of runtime per charge, with a charge time of 3.5 hours. An additional swappable battery pack is available separately for extended cleaning sessions.

Priced at AED 1,449 in the UAE and SAR 1,499 in Saudi Arabia, the Dyson PencilWash will be available from May through Dyson’s regional website and selected Dyson Demo Stores across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Riyadh, Dammam, and Doha.

The launch reflects a broader trend in home cleaning appliances toward compact, multi-function floor washers that combine vacuuming and mopping in one unit. As more households adopt hard flooring surfaces, demand for wet and dry cleaners that balance convenience, hygiene, and storage efficiency continues to grow. The Dyson PencilWash enters a competitive segment where size, maintenance requirements, and ease of use are becoming as important as raw suction power.
