An independent benchmark test has ranked du as the UAE’s top provider for indoor mobile performance, citing faster data speeds and improved call reliability compared to other networks in the country. The results suggest that recent upgrades to du’s indoor infrastructure are paying off, particularly in environments where mobile signals often struggle.
According to the data, du delivered 79% faster download speeds and 49% faster upload speeds indoors, along with a zero per cent dropped call rate and a 100% call setup success rate. These improvements have been applied across a range of key indoor locations, including shopping malls, offices, and residential buildings.
Indoor performance is increasingly important in the UAE, where high temperatures during summer keep people inside for much of the year. Video calls, cloud uploads, and streaming services have made stable indoor connectivity essential, and the benchmark results suggest du has made meaningful progress in this area.
The company says the improvements are the result of significant investment in its network infrastructure, aimed at both speed and stability. Enhanced coverage now extends across high-traffic venues, with the goal of providing consistent connectivity even in challenging environments.
For customers, the upgrades translate into faster app performance, smoother streaming, and clearer calls without interruptions. Those relying on mobile broadband as their primary internet source—particularly in shared accommodation or remote work setups—may see the most benefit from these changes.
While the benchmark only reflects current indoor performance, it highlights an ongoing trend of UAE operators competing on network quality in practical, everyday scenarios. For now, du holds the lead indoors, but sustained investment will be key to keeping that position as demand for mobile data continues to grow.
