CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will officially launch for Apple silicon Macs on July 17, marking the first time the sci-fi RPG is natively available on macOS. The release includes both the base game and its major expansion Phantom Liberty, and will be accessible via the Mac App Store, GOG.com, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
This release is fully optimized for Macs powered by Apple silicon—ranging from the latest M4 and M3 chips to M1-based devices, provided they include at least 16GB of unified memory and are running macOS 15.5 or later. According to the developer, the game has been individually tuned for each Apple silicon model to ensure a stable and smooth experience across the Mac lineup, including MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Studio, and Mac mini.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition offers players the entire package: the original game starring Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, the Phantom Liberty expansion featuring Idris Elba as Solomon Reed, and all updates released to date. That includes Patch 2.3, which adds quality-of-life enhancements such as new Photo Mode options, additional in-game vehicles, and further performance improvements.

Technical features include support for path tracing, frame generation, and HDR tuning on Apple XDR displays, along with Spatial Audio with head-tracking when using Apple AirPods. These additions aim to bring the Mac experience closer to that of high-end gaming PCs and consoles.
Notably, players who already own Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store will be able to download the game at no additional cost on their compatible Mac devices. Those purchasing directly through the Mac App Storewill receive the full Ultimate Edition bundle.

This marks a significant move for Mac gaming, as CD Projekt Red joins a growing list of developers taking advantage of Apple’s Metal framework and dedicated gaming hardware advancements. The Mac version does not compromise on content or visual fidelity, indicating a shift in how AAA titles are beginning to treat Apple’s ecosystem.
