CUKTECH introduces 4-port GaN charger with real-time power monitoring

The market for multi-device charging accessories continues to expand as laptops, smartphones, and peripherals increasingly rely on USB-C power delivery. Against this backdrop, CUKTECH has introduced a 100W wall charger that aims to consolidate several charging needs into a single, compact unit.

The charger is built around GaN (gallium nitride) technology, which has become common in recent years for its ability to deliver higher power output with improved efficiency compared to traditional silicon-based chargers. With a maximum output of 100W through its primary USB-C ports, the device is positioned to handle larger electronics such as laptops while still supporting smaller devices like smartphones and accessories. The company claims a 14-inch laptop can reach 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes, a figure that aligns with what is typically expected from chargers in this category.

One of the more distinctive elements is the inclusion of a small integrated display. Measuring 1.57 inches, the screen provides real-time information on power usage, including wattage, voltage, and current. While this kind of visibility can be useful for users managing multiple devices, it remains a niche feature, as most consumers prioritize reliability and speed over detailed monitoring. The addition of touch controls further suggests an attempt to differentiate in a crowded segment, though its practical value will depend on how often users engage with these settings in everyday use.

The charger includes four ports—three USB-C and one USB-A—allowing simultaneous charging of multiple devices. This configuration reflects the ongoing transition toward USB-C while still accommodating older accessories. Power is distributed dynamically across connected devices, which is standard for multi-port chargers, though actual performance will vary depending on how many devices are connected and their respective power demands.

Thermal management and safety are also highlighted, with the device reportedly conducting frequent temperature checks and incorporating multiple layers of protection against common electrical issues such as overvoltage and short circuits. These features are now expected rather than exceptional, particularly in higher-wattage chargers where heat management is critical.

From a design perspective, the charger focuses on compactness and wall-mounted convenience, with attention given to plug stability and surface finish. It also ships with a 240W-rated USB-C cable, which adds practical value, especially for users who may not already own high-capacity cables.

Priced just under $60, the charger sits within a competitive range for GaN-based multi-port chargers. Its combination of high output, multiple ports, and an integrated display suggests an attempt to appeal to users looking for an all-in-one charging solution, though the added interface may be more appealing to enthusiasts than the average user.
