Amazfit has unveiled its latest affordable fitness watch, the Amazfit Active 2 Round, at CES 2025. Starting at just $99, the Active 2 offers a compelling combination of features, including a remarkably bright display, upgraded sensors, and a variety of fitness tracking capabilities.

One of the most notable features of the Active 2 is its 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. This level of brightness is comparable to that of premium fitness watches that cost significantly more. The display also boasts a high resolution density of 353 pixels per inch, ensuring sharp and clear visuals.

The Active 2 incorporates a new heart rate sensor with five photodiodes and two LEDs, promising improved accuracy in tracking heart rate data. Additionally, the watch includes a gyroscope for more precise motion tracking, an altimeter for elevation data, and an ambient light sensor for adaptive brightness.

These upgraded sensors enable the Active 2 to support nearly 40 new sports modes that utilize elevation data and the gyroscope’s accurate movement tracking. This includes activities like stair climbing, skiing, and 25 auto-detected strength exercises.

Key Features and Specs:

  • Display: 1.32-inch AMOLED with 2,000 nits brightness and 353 ppi resolution
  • Sensors: BioTracker 6.0 PPG heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter, ambient light sensor, geomagnetic sensor, temperature sensor
  • Battery Life: Up to 10 days with typical use
  • Sports Modes: Over 160
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.2, BLE
  • Other Features: Offline maps, Zepp Coach AI, daily readiness score, NFC payments (Europe only)

The Amazfit Active 2 will be available in two versions: a standard model for $99 and a premium model for $129. The premium model features a black genuine leather strap, a sapphire glass screen, and a spare silicone band. It also supports NFC payments, although this feature is limited to Europe.

Preorders for the Amazfit Active 2 are open now, with shipping starting on January 13th in the United States and in February worldwide.

The Amazfit Active 2 presents a strong value proposition for those seeking a budget-friendly fitness watch without compromising on essential features. Its bright display, upgraded sensors, and comprehensive fitness tracking capabilities make it a compelling option in its price range.
