If you are an Apple fan or even just an Apple user and have been eyeing the latest Apple Watch, then get excited. The Apple Watch, Series 3 with Cellular will be coming soon to UAE.
Long time UAE residents might be skeptical and say “soon… heard that before”, but guess what, Pre-orders are starting on 8th June and the device will be available starting the 15th of June.
This is great news as usually the new technologies launched in conjunction with Apple, or other big guns, usually take a few years to show up here. Yes, we are looking at you Apple Pay.
But gets your wallets out and get ready to pre-order the Series 3 Apple Watch with cellular.
You can pre-order your Apple Watch from the official Apple Website: https://www.apple.com/ae/watch/
The cellular version of the Series 3 Apple Watch has a e-sim (basically a small and non-removable sim chip). This does mean that you will be required to have a data plan in order to use the Cellular features of the Apple Watch. While Etisalat definitely has support for the e-sim, it’s unclear if Du is onboard yet.

We are still not sure what the plans will be like, but judging by the standard plans, it might be possible to add the Watch onto your current plan by adding the monthly payment of 30 AED. This is a standard plan that allows multiple sims on the same number and same data plan. I guess we will have to wait and see.
After the Apple’s 2018 WWDC event, it’s great to see some more countries supporting the e-sim in the Apple Watch. Something they actually didn’t talk about at the event at all, guess Apple still has some surprises for some people.
While you wait for the watch launch, check out the unboxing of the GPS enabled (non-cellular), Series 3 Apple Watch
