On June 4, 2018, Tokyo-based KLab Inc announced that their popular title, Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team, will finally include Arabic as a language option, taking the tally up to a total of eight languages.
This was KLab’s response to a cascade of requests from an expansive fan base in the MENA gaming community, after the game took top spot in overall sales in the App Store in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, and the UAE.

About Captain Tsubasa
In 1981, Japanese cartoonist and manga artist, Yoichi Takahashi, birthed the worldwide phenomenon after he was inspired by the 1978 World Cup in Argentina. As the source of inspiration suggests, Takhashi’s creation is centred on the world of football, where it follows an 11-year-old elementary school student who aspires to lift the World Cup with Japan.
Initially serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, Captain Tsubasa and its sequels have sold more than 70 million volumes in Japan alone, and has also been spun into films and an animated series, translated into over 20 languages.

Speaking about his hit series, Takahashi said: “I am delighted that Captain Tsubasa can be enjoyed through different media and genres!
“I believe the fans will be able to enjoy this game because the world of Tsubasa, the characters, and their special moves are very faithfully reproduced!
“I am very happy that fans not only in Japan, but all around the world will be able to enjoy this new Captain Tsubasa game!
“There are lots of characters from around the world in Captain Tsubasa for you to pick and build your own team. I hope you enjoy the game!”
The timing could not be more perfect for the Arabic release of this game. With the first stage of the World Cup coming to a dramatic close, there is a fever of excitement spreading across the globe, and Takhashi was absolutely right when he said that the special moves in Captain Tsubasa have been faithfully reproduced.
