The March 2026 Capcom Spotlight delivered a broad set of updates across several of the publisher’s major franchises, including new gameplay footage, release date changes, roster additions, and community-focused announcements. The event largely focused on titles scheduled for 2026 while also highlighting long-running series such as Resident Evil and Mega Man.
One of the more detailed segments centered on Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The presentation included an extended overview trailer showing combat mechanics, environments, and narrative setup. The game follows Miyamoto Musashi, a wandering samurai navigating a supernatural conflict in Kyoto during Japan’s Edo period in the 17th century. Several well-known locations appear in the footage, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple, as Musashi battles Genma creatures spreading across the region. The gameplay emphasizes sword combat combined with supernatural abilities tied to the Oni Gauntlet. Musashi’s story also intersects with familiar historical figures, including rival swordsman Sasaki Ganryu. While Capcom showed more gameplay than before, the studio still lists the release window broadly as sometime in 2026.
Street Fighter 6 received a smaller but notable update. The fighter Alex will join the roster on March 17 as part of the game’s ongoing character support. Motion capture for the character involved professional wrestler Kenny Omega, while JAM Project contributed a new background music track titled “Go! Alex! Hope is Born!” Additional cosmetic content was also revealed, including Outfit 4 costumes for Elena and Dee Jay as part of a swimsuit-themed set. These additions continue Capcom’s steady post-launch expansion strategy for the fighting game, which has relied on seasonal characters and cosmetic packs to maintain player engagement.
The science fiction title Pragmata also resurfaced during the showcase. Originally announced several years ago and delayed multiple times, the project received a new gameplay trailer highlighting its unusual pairing of astronaut Hugh and a mysterious young android named Diana. The trailer suggests puzzle elements integrated with third-person shooting as the two characters navigate a lunar research facility. Capcom also adjusted the release date slightly, moving it forward by one week from April 24 to April 17. A Deluxe Edition was detailed as well, including additional in-game cosmetic items and a digital art collection.
Another major focus of the event was Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, which launches March 13, 2026. The new trailer outlined the game’s central conflict between the nations of Azuria and Vemeril as a phenomenon known as the Crystal Encroachment spreads across the world. The story also introduces twin Rathalos appearing simultaneously, though only one rider is connected to them. As with previous entries in the spin-off RPG series, the game includes multiple bonuses tied to save data from earlier Monster Hunter titles. Players who have played Monster Hunter Stories, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, Monster Hunter Ride, or Monster Hunter Wilds will unlock various cosmetic armor sets and outfits. Additional free downloadable content will also be available at launch.
Outside of game announcements, the presentation briefly acknowledged the upcoming Street Fighter film adaptation scheduled for theatrical release on October 16, 2026. Behind-the-scenes footage from the production will be shown during Capcom Cup 12.
The publisher also outlined plans to mark the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. Activities include a themed attraction collaboration with Universal Studios Japan, a new Resident Evil 2 arcade experience, and a concert tour titled Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Concerts – Symphony of Legacy. A compilation package called Resident Evil Generation Pack will also bundle Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 9.
Mega Man projects were also mentioned during the broadcast. The Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection will feature expanded online functionality, including ranked and casual matches, trading systems, and a revised Brother List allowing players to connect with up to 100 other users. Capcom also discussed Mega Man: Dual Override, revealing the finalists in a community boss design contest that attracted around 10,000 submissions. Six designs advanced through community voting, though only one will ultimately appear in the final game.
Finally, the presentation confirmed the schedule for Capcom Cup 12 and the Street Fighter League World Championship 2025. The five-day event runs from March 11 to March 15 and concludes with the Capcom Cup finals, where the winner will receive a $1 million prize. The final day will focus on the Street Fighter League championship match.
