Belkin has announced a voluntary safety recall for its Auto-Tracking Stand Pro and select 20,000 mAh USB-C power banks after identifying a manufacturing defect that may cause the lithium-ion cells inside certain units to overheat. The recall covers the Auto-Tracking Stand Pro (model MMA008), the BoostCharge USB-C PD Power Bank 20K (model BPB002), and the Playa USB-C PD Power Bank 20K (model PB0003). Customers who own any of these products are advised to stop using them immediately, disconnect them from power, and store them in a dry location away from flammable materials until further guidance is followed.
Belkin is offering affected customers either a full refund or store credit equal to the purchase price plus an additional 20% on Belkin.com, provided they submit a valid serial number or proof of purchase. No other Belkin devices are included in this recall, and the company stresses that the issue is limited to the three identified models.
In a note addressing the recall, Belkin stated that while the number of reported cases is extremely limited and no injuries have been reported, the company is moving forward with the voluntary recall out of caution. Belkin emphasized that customer safety remains its highest priority and that the decision reflects an ongoing commitment to safety, quality, and transparency. The company acknowledged that recalls can impact consumer trust, and said that open communication is essential when taking actions aimed at preventing harm.
Customers can verify whether their device is affected by checking the model number on the back or underside of the product. If it matches MMA008, BPB002, or PB0003, the next steps include locating the serial number and completing the online recall form. Belkin’s site provides additional instructions on how to manage affected units, including safe storage and disposal procedures for lithium-ion devices. Impacted products should never be placed in household waste or standard recycling bins; instead, they must be taken to certified facilities equipped to handle battery-powered electronics.
Further details, including the full recall process and disposal guidance, are available on the company’s recall page. Customer service representatives are on hand to answer questions and assist with claims.
