Apple is extending its Beats Solo 4 lineup with a limited-edition Ruby Red model designed in collaboration with K-pop artist Jennie Kim, better known as JENNIE. The release ties directly into her latest album “Ruby” and continues Beats’ ongoing strategy of pairing its hardware with cultural figures in music and fashion.
The Beats Solo 4 JENNIE Special Edition stands out with its striking red finish and detachable bows, a stylistic nod to JENNIE’s current era. The headphones also include a matching carrying case and a subtle design twist: one ear cushion is marked with a stylized “R” symbol inspired by her branding, while the bows carry similar details.
Functionally, this version of the Solo 4 does not introduce new hardware beyond its aesthetic changes. Buyers can expect the same features that defined the model’s April 2024 launch: up to 50 hours of battery life, compatibility with both USB-C and 3.5mm wired connections for lossless playback, and a lightweight on-ear build aimed at casual listeners who want a balance of style and performance.

The $199.99 price point keeps the JENNIE edition in line with the standard Solo 4, underscoring Apple’s approach of offering special editions as a way to generate attention without segmenting its product line. For Beats, these collaborations also function as marketing touchpoints that reinforce its identity as a lifestyle brand rooted in music culture, rather than solely a hardware manufacturer.
The release comes just days before the album “Ruby” becomes more prominent in streaming charts, with Apple Music heavily spotlighting the project. For JENNIE, it’s another step in a career that has consistently bridged music, fashion, and tech partnerships. For Apple, it adds another bright color option to its catalog, joining reports of upcoming Dark Slate and Pink updates for the higher-end Beats Studio Pro.
The Beats Solo 4 JENNIE Special Edition will be available starting September 5, 2025.
