With the newest trailer out for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I have to say that I am really excited to see Batfleck in action (after the apparent disgrace of the Daredevil film, I think Affleck deserves forgiveness).
The trailer opens with Bruce Wayne showing up to some sort of Gala in a tiny little car, and Clark Kent not knowing that this is the owner of one of the largest international conglomerates – Wayne Enterprises.
“That, is Bruce Wayne” – cue the cliche dramatic music to highlight the intense tone of the two heroes finally meeting face to face.
“The Daily Planet criticising those who think they’re above the law is hypocritical, won’t you say? Considering every time your hero saves a cat out of a tree, you write a puff pieced editorial about an alien who could burn the whole place down” – shots fired, Bruce.
And then we have the slight looney version of Lex Luthor, appearing to be full of joy being the apparent reason to the two buff men meeting. When Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Luthor, I knew we wouldn’t be seeing the same kind of character that we did in Smallvile. It might take a little getting used to but I think Eisenberg could pull it off. Hopefully.
I can’t help but realise that this trailer has a major spoiler for the entire movie. Granted, everyone knew that the two heroes would eventually join forces to stop a slightly larger force, with the help of a certain Amazonian princess, but they’ve actually showed it in the trailer. Towards the end, we what appears to be Doomsday trying to kill Batman and Superman, but is stopped by Wonder Woman’s shield.
I think the trailer gives away the whole movie, although still no sign of Aquaman or any other Justice League members, we’ve already seen major plots of the film. Still, I have to say that I am excited to see the film in it’s entirety.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to release on March 23, 2016.
