Bang & Olufsen has marked its 100th anniversary with the launch of the Centennial Collection — a trio of special edition products that pay homage to the Danish company’s design heritage and craftsmanship. The collection reimagines some of the brand’s most recognizable devices with colors, materials, and patterns inspired by a century of experimentation in sound and aesthetics.
Founded in 1925, Bang & Olufsen has long balanced luxury audio performance with design-led form, a tradition the Centennial Collection continues. Each piece incorporates subtle nods to the company’s early work, from the checkered speaker grilles reminiscent of mid-century radio sets to color palettes referencing the bold tones of the 1970s and 1980s.
The range includes three models: the Beoplay H100 headphones, the Beosound A5 portable speaker, and the Beosound A9 home speaker. The Beoplay H100 comes in a muted Century Brown finish, accented by a Century Red leather headband and Century Blue detailing. The Beosound A5 receives a Century Weave pattern across its grille, offset by brushed aluminum framing, while its strap and cable are finished in matching red and blue tones. The largest of the collection, the Beosound A9, arrives in Century Blue and features Kvadrat’s Centennial Cadence fabric alongside a natural aluminum ring and brushed legs — details that deliberately echo B&O products from the 1980s.

Each item in the collection bears a commemorative “Est. 1925” emblem and a quote attributed to the company’s founders: “A never failing will to create only the best.” The message ties the modern pieces back to Bang & Olufsen’s roots in precision engineering and minimalist design.

Pricing reflects the brand’s positioning within the high-end market. The Beoplay H100 is priced at £1,500 (about $2,300), the Beosound A5 at £1,250 ($1,750), and the Beosound A9 at £3,800 ($5,500). European and Australian pricing align proportionally. While Bang & Olufsen has not announced production limits, these models are expected to remain available only through the anniversary year.
For collectors or long-time followers of the brand, the Centennial Collection represents less a reinvention and more a reflection — a celebration of B&O’s century-long pursuit of design integrity in a consumer electronics market often defined by disposability. Rather than chase novelty, the series refines familiar forms, blending nostalgia with craftsmanship that still resonates a hundred years later.
