AYANEO 3 handheld gaming PC offers unprecedented customization with swappable controls

AYANEO is set to shake up the handheld gaming market with its latest device, the AYANEO 3. This Windows-based handheld boasts a unique feature: swappable controls called Magic Modules. These modules offer a variety of layouts, including different sticks, D-pads, buttons, and even Steam Deck-style trackpads.

With six modules announced so far, gamers can instantly customize their control scheme to suit individual games and preferences. The AYANEO 3’s software seamlessly recognizes and adapts to the different modules, providing a truly personalized gaming experience.

Beyond its modular controls, the AYANEO 3 offers powerful specifications, including Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen 7 8840U chipset options, as well as 7-inch 120hz LCD and 144hz OLED display choices. Running on Windows 11, the AYANEO 3 promises excellent performance and compatibility with a wide range of games.

While the battery capacity is comparable to the Steam Deck OLED, it falls short of some competitors, such as the ROG Ally X and MSI’s updated Claw handhelds.

Pricing details have not been revealed, but AYANEO devices typically occupy the premium segment of the market. The AYANEO 2S, for example, launched with a starting price of $999.

Alongside the AYANEO 3, the company also announced special editions of its Android-powered AYANEO Pocket S and AYANEO Pocket Micro handhelds, with prices starting at $439 and $249, respectively. These devices are expected to be available in January 2025.
