Apple has introduced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M5 chip, marking the next major leap in AI performance for the Mac lineup. The M5 chip brings a new GPU architecture with a Neural Accelerator built into each core, a faster CPU, and a more powerful Neural Engine — all while maintaining up to 24 hours of battery life.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 delivers up to 3.5 times faster AI performance and 1.6 times faster graphics than the previous generation, offering a significant boost for professionals, students, and creators who rely on AI-assisted workflows.
John Ternus, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, said, “MacBook Pro continues to be the world’s best pro laptop, and today, the 14-inch MacBook Pro gets even better with the arrival of the M5 chip. M5 marks the next big leap in AI for the Mac and delivers a huge boost in graphics performance, accelerating demanding workflows for everyone from students to creatives, developers to business professionals, and more.”

The next generation of Apple silicon for Mac
The M5 chip introduces a 10-core GPU with Neural Accelerators in every core, delivering up to 6x faster AI performance than the M1 and enabling real-time diffusion model generation, faster local LLM processing, and smoother AI video enhancement. A new 16-core Neural Engine further enhances Apple Intelligence features and other on-device AI models, maintaining high performance without sacrificing power efficiency.
For creative and technical professionals, M5 also brings up to 1.6x faster graphics performance for pro apps and 1.7x faster 3D rendering in tools like Blender. With 150GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, the 14-inch MacBook Pro can handle large AI models and 3D environments seamlessly.
Breakthrough performance and battery life
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro features the world’s fastest CPU core, offering 20% faster multithreaded performance compared to the M4 and up to 2x faster than M1. Apple says that users upgrading from Intel-based systems can expect up to 86x faster AI performance, 30x faster graphics, and 5.5x faster CPU speeds.
Despite these gains, battery life remains industry-leading — up to 24 hours on a single charge — making it the longest-lasting Mac notebook ever. Fast charging can restore 50% power in just 30 minutes using a 96W or higher USB-C adapter.
Built for macOS Tahoe
The new MacBook Pro runs macOS Tahoe, which introduces redesigned system visuals and new productivity features. Spotlight now lets users search and take quick actions directly from the search bar, while the new Continuity features integrate the iPhone’s Phone app, allowing calls and voicemail directly from the Mac.
Apple Intelligence, built into macOS, brings AI-powered tools for summarizing text, generating images, and performing live translation across apps like Messages, FaceTime, and the new Phone app. Developers can also tap into Apple’s Foundation Models framework for custom AI solutions.

Display, design, and audio
The 14-inch MacBook Pro retains the Liquid Retina XDR display with up to 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness and a nano-texture glass option for reduced glare. A 12MP Center Stage camera, studio-quality mics, and a six-speaker Spatial Audio system make it ideal for creative professionals and video calls alike.
Sustainability and materials
As part of Apple’s 2030 environmental goals, the new MacBook Pro is made with 45% recycled content, including 100% recycled aluminum, cobalt, and rare earth elements. It’s built using 55% renewable electricity and ships in 100% fiber-based packaging.
