Apple and Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE have unveiled a new collaboration called iPhone Pocket — a limited-edition accessory designed as both a functional carrier and a statement of minimalist design. Launching on November 14 in select global markets, the iPhone Pocket reimagines how users carry their devices, blending Apple’s industrial design sensibility with ISSEY MIYAKE’s textile craftsmanship.

The iPhone Pocket is constructed using a single 3D-knitted textile developed in Japan, inspired by ISSEY MIYAKE’s signature pleats and the concept of “a piece of cloth.” The open, ribbed structure stretches to fit any iPhone model and adapts to carry small everyday items such as AirPods or cards. When expanded, the knit subtly reveals the contents inside, allowing users to glimpse their phone display through the fabric. Designed for versatility, the Pocket can be worn on the wrist, tied to a bag, or worn crossbody, reflecting ISSEY MIYAKE’s philosophy of adaptable, user-driven design.

Apple’s vice president of Industrial Design, Molly Anderson, described the collaboration as a meeting point between two design cultures that value simplicity and functionality. “This clever extra pocket exemplifies those ideas and is a natural accompaniment to our products,” Anderson said. The accessory’s color palette was curated to complement Apple’s current iPhone lineup, available in eight short-strap colors — lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black — and three long-strap versions in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.

Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director at MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, said the project aimed to explore “the joy of wearing iPhone in your own way.” He noted that the flexible, minimal design invites users to interpret how they carry and express their personal relationship with technology.
The collaboration reflects a broader trend of high-fashion partnerships within the tech industry, as brands experiment with ways to merge function and aesthetic identity. In this case, Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE have produced an accessory that is both wearable and utilitarian — a blend of artful textile engineering and consumer electronics design.

The iPhone Pocket will be available at select Apple Store locations and online via apple.com across eight regions, including the U.S., UK, France, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Greater China, and Taiwan. The short-strap model is priced at $149.95, while the long-strap version retails for $229.95.
For a company that has long emphasized design as a defining element of its products, Apple’s collaboration with ISSEY MIYAKE extends that ethos into the realm of wearable accessories — a quiet fusion of fashion and technology that highlights both brands’ shared commitment to understated innovation.
