Apple has rolled out the seventh developer betas of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, continuing its regular testing cycle ahead of the software’s public release later this year. The latest versions arrive just a week after the sixth betas were made available, signaling that development is moving steadily toward completion.
Developers with registered accounts can access the new builds through the Software Update section in the Settings app. While the current release is limited to developers, Apple has already confirmed that a wider public beta program is planned, with a general rollout of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 expected in the fall.
The updates bring a number of changes designed to refine both the iPhone and iPad experience. iOS 26 introduces a refreshed “Liquid Glass” design language along with new system-level tools tied to Apple’s artificial intelligence framework. Several core apps—including Messages, Phone, Shortcuts, and Apple Music—also gain updated functionality aimed at streamlining everyday use.
On the iPad side, iPadOS 26 continues to push the device closer to a laptop-style workflow. The highlight of this beta is an updated multitasking system that allows multiple app windows to run simultaneously, offering a more flexible, Mac-like environment for productivity.
As with all beta releases, Apple and developers alike caution against installing these builds on a primary device. Bugs, performance issues, and incomplete features are common at this stage of testing, so the betas are best suited for devices specifically set aside for development and experimentation.
With the seventh developer beta now in circulation, the software is approaching its final stages before release. The coming weeks will likely bring additional refinements as Apple prepares to roll out iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 to the broader public.
